Lifecycle enum - Soteris Developer Docs

This is the whole public state vocabulary. A partner system and an agent map against these names; a state not on this list is not a public lifecycle state. The states are public-facing labels, not the internal workflow implementation.

States

State	Meaning
`proposal_accepted_paid`	Proposal acceptance and initial payment are complete.
`engagement_created`	Soteris has created the engagement record.
`onboarding_open`	Initial intake is open.
`document_gate_open`	Required inputs have been requested and are being collected.
`document_gate_blocked`	Collection is blocked by missing or incomplete material.
`ready_for_soteris_review`	Inputs are ready for Soteris review.
`agent_ready`	Agent-assisted preparation can begin.
`agent_running`	Agent-assisted work is in progress.
`clarification_requested`	More information is needed from a client or partner.
`soteris_review`	Soteris review is in progress.
`cpa_gate`	An opaque professional review state. Criteria are not public.
`deliverable_review`	A deliverable is being reviewed for release readiness.
`final_payment_pending`	Final payment is required before closeout or release path completion.
`closed_paid`	Commercial closeout is complete.
`archived`	The engagement is archived under Soteris controls.

Meanings here are canonical. Public states adds the partner signal for each.

Outcome statuses

Some events that stop or redirect an engagement are recorded as outcome statuses adjacent to the lifecycle. Partner systems may encounter these values on records. Outcome statuses are not lifecycle states and should not be modeled as such.

Outcome status	Where it occurs
`rejected`	Review gate outcome.
`waived`	Review gate outcome.
`declined`	Proposal or signature phase, before an engagement exists.
`expired`	Proposal or signature phase, before an engagement exists.
`paused`	Proposal phase, before an engagement exists. Also a preparation run outcome.
`voided`	Signature or payment outcome.
`failed`	Payment or preparation run outcome.
`refunded`	Payment outcome.
`cancelled`	Preparation run outcome.
`retention_exception`	Archive exception recorded after closeout.

There is no terminated or withdrawn lifecycle state today. How each outcome fits the state machine is in Exception paths. The names here are the contract. The criteria that move an engagement between states are not, per the Disclosure boundary.
