Verification in Soteris is a verify-side model. A check inspects the metadata of a released record and confirms its standing. It does not reveal, reconstruct, or explain the professional reasoning behind the deliverable. A check confirms that something was released and is current. How the conclusion was reached cannot be derived from any check.

What a check answers

How to check

Present a receipt at its verificationUrl. The check confirms the receipt’s fields against the release: artifact, version, issue time, and standing. Public and permissioned callers see different amounts, per Public vs permissioned checks.

Verify-side model

A check confirms released-record metadata against a receipt. The issue side stays private.
Verification exists to make releases confirmable, not to expose the work. Everything on the issue side, how the deliverable was prepared and judged and how the proof itself is constructed, stays private. That thinness is the design: a partner can trust a release without Soteris disclosing the judgment that produced it.
